Asian Philosophies

Description

A survey of major Asian traditions, texts, and thinkers, especially in Indian and Chinese philosophy. Course themes will include Asian philosophical perspectives on the nature of the mind, body, self, soul, identity, knowledge, reality, compassion, duty, karma, and nirvana. This course will involve the disciplined practices of concentration and meditation. Pre or coreq. - PHIL 121 or 201. Approved for the Honors Program. Core: AH, D.
